Spellman Files
By:  Lisa Lutz

The Spellman files is the first book in the Izzy Spellman Mysteries.  This book is a laugh out loud, great read.  Isabel Spellman is a twenty eight year-old who works in the family business: Spellman Investigations.  Izzy is part Bridget Jones, part Columbo as she works as a private investigator.  With her crazy past of romantic mistakes, excessive drinking and creative vandalism, she excels at her job.  The characters in this novel include her bosses, mom and dad, her perfect lawyer brother David, her 14 year-old sister Rae, who likes to do recreational surveillance, and her troubled Uncle Ray, who has many “lost weekends”.

Izzy is a master at spying on everyone, which includes running background checks on her boyfriends.  But when her family hires her own sister to spy on Izzy, she is ready to call it quits.  Her parents assign her a final case that will change everything.

This novel is a fun read and I would recommend it to everyone.
